Abstract: Gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT), the administration of sex hormones to affirm one’s gender identity, is one of the most desired gender-affirming interventions among transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) individuals.1,2 Like hormone replacement therapy in cisgender individuals, GAHT may carry long-term health risks.3 As access becomes increasingly restricted, some TGD individuals may turn to unlicensed sources for hormone therapy, further increasing potential risks. Limited data exist on medical comorbidities among TGD adults receiving GAHT.
