Abstract: The article is devoted to the problems of Russian newspeak and anti-newspeak from the lexical perspective. The primary attention is paid to the analysis of lexical units that took root in the Russian discourse after 24 II 2022. The subject of the study is ideological and propagandistic newspeak, and also anti- newspeak as a language of resistance. The basic method of the paper is comparative analysis. As a result of the study, it was possible to show the main word-formation tendencies in the development of the two discourses.
