Abstract: Sowing time of brachiaria and subdoses application of herbicide can improve corn-brachiaria intercropping aiming at corn production, and straw formation for the no-tillage system, and pasture for crop-livestock integrated system. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Urochloa brizantha (cv. Marandu) sowing times and the use of nicosulfuron subdose in intercropping with corn under no-tillage in the Amazonian savanna. The experiment was carried out in a randomized block design with four replications, and six treatments: simultaneous sowing of Brachiaria and corn; simultaneous sowing of Brachiaria and corn with nicosulfuron application; Brachiaria sowing at V4 corn stage; Brachiaria sowing at V8 corn stage; corn monoculture; and Brachiaria monoculture. , The presence of Brachiaria and the use of nicosulfuron did not affect the vegetative and productive characteristics of corn, but Brachiaria yield was negatively impacted by the presence of corn and the sowing time. However, 90 days after the corn harvest, Brachiaria dry mass production was the same between simultaneous sowing and at V8 corn stage treatments.
