The Role of Botulinum Toxin in Preventing Chronic Migraine
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Chronic migraine (CM) is a disabling neurological condition affecting approximately 1–2% of the global population. It significantly reduces patients' productivity, mental health, and overall quality of life. Traditional prophylactic treatments are often ineffective or poorly tolerated. In this context, botulinum toxin type A has gained attention as an effective and well-tolerated alternative for CM prevention. However, further studies are needed to clarify its mechanisms and optimize clinical use.
