Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: With the advent and prevalence of the digital era, mobile Internet has been deeply integrated into the lives of adolescents. An increasing number of children obtain information, conduct social interactions, and engage in recreational activities via the Internet. Based on the 2020 CFPS data and taking Internet access as the entry point, this paper adopts the Probit model to systematically investigate the influence of Internet access on the health of children from low-income families and its mechanism of action. The research finds that Internet access significantly enhances the health level of children from low-income families. Children in their juvenile period and those from low-income families with parents of low educational attainment are more significantly affected by Internet access. The facilitating effect of Internet access on the health of low-income families in the central and western regions is more notable.
