Exosome is an important component of paracrine secretion by cells. They are involved in intercellular communication and have shown great potential in promoting wound healing through mechanisms such as stimulating fibroblast proliferation and migration, promoting angiogenesis, modulating inflammatory responses, facilitating re-epithelialization, and reducing scar formation. This review summarizes the research on exosome transplantation for wound healing, providing new ideas and methods for the treatment of refractory wounds.
