Echoing the Classics: Femoral Artery Doppler as the Modern-Day Traube's and Duroziez's Signs in Severe Aortic Regurgitation: A Case Series

Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Aortic regurgitation (AR) can result from diseases affecting either the aortic leaflets or the aortic root. Holodiastolic aortic flow reversal detected by Doppler echocardiography is an important component of the integrated approach to qualitatively assess the severity of AR, suggesting at least moderate severity if present in the descending aorta and severe disease if observed in the abdominal aorta.1 In this article, we describe our use of holodiastolic flow reversal in the femoral artery (FA) as a potential sign of significant AR, contributing to the overall echocardiographic assessment.
