Abstract: This article discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on funeral rituals and how the management of death has been modified by health constraints. It highlights the difficulty for families to pay tribute to the deceased due to the restrictive measures imposed, such as social distancing and limitations on gatherings. As a result, these measures have caused a rupture in traditional funeral rituals. However, in the face of these constraints, new practices have emerged to circumvent these restrictions and allow families to mourn in a way adapted to the health context.
