“Synthesis of Heterocycle Fused Schiff Base Derivatives as a Potent Biological Active Molecule”
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: One of the most fascinating branches of pharmaceutical field is the chemistry of heterocyclic molecules. Heterocyclic compounds are widely distributed in nature and have biological and industrial significance. Already most of the drugs available in the market are heterocyclic in nature. Heterocyclic moieties have shown a rapid development in diverse disciplines as a result of the possible use of these new compounds in biological applications. Among them Schiff bases substituted 1, 3, 4-oxadiazole and their synthetic analogs have revealed a variety of pharmacological activities including anti-microbial, anti-tubercular and insecticidal agents. Some of these compounds have also analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-HIV agent, anti-parkinsonian and anti-priliferative agent. In view of the above mentioned findings in the present study we made an efficient attempt to synthesize Schiff’s base fused 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives, possessing a potent biological activity. Structure of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR,1H NMR and Mass spectral studies.
