Seismic Analysis of Nuclear Grade Glove Box

Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: The seismic performance of nuclear equipment is so crucial to the safety of nuclear facilities, that it is necessary to carry out seismic analysis to assess structural behavior against seismic excitation. In this study, the seismic analysis of a nuclear-grade glove box(NGGB) is conducted using ANSYS software. A finite element analysis(FEA) model is established, and the load combination and stress limit for the seismic analysis are determined. Modal analysis is performed, yielding the natural frequency and vibration mode of the equipment. Based on the results of the modal analysis, a response spectrum analysis(RSA) of the structure is conducted, revealing the stress nephogram distribution of plate- and shell-type components and linear-type components. The safety of the nuclear-grade glove box under seismic conditions is assessed, serving as a reference and foundation for future seismic analyses of nuclear-grade glove boxes.
