Abstract: The automobile has become a ubiquitous mode of transportation in contemporary society. While automobiles offer convenience to individuals, they also contribute to environmental degradation and excessive energy consumption. The phenomenon of air resistance plays a significant role in determining the energy consumption of vehicles. In light of the aforementioned circumstances, this thesis employs computational fluid dynamics to construct a car simulation model via the STAR-CCM+ software, with the objective of ascertaining the wind resistance coefficient of the vehicle and optimising the design to diminish wind resistance. During the course of the research, the wind resistance simulation of the original model was completed, and the surface pressure distribution and wind resistance value during the driving process of the car were obtained. Subsequent to the simulation data being subjected to post-processing, an analysis was conducted of the various factors affecting the aerodynamic drag of the car. Based on the findings of this analysis, the original model was optimally adjusted.
