From Simulation to Real-Time Excellence: The Impact of Virtual Reality in Clinical Nursing Education

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The rapid evolution of healthcare technology has introduced Virtual Reality (VR) as a transformative tool in nursing education.VR offers immersive, interactive, and realistic learning environments that bridge the gap between classroom-based theory and clinical practice. This article explores the integration of VR in clinical nursing education, analyzing its pedagogical foundations, benefits, challenges, and future applications.Emphasis is placed on how VR simulations enhance clinical competencies, critical thinking, and decision-making in real-time scenarios. The paper also discusses how VR supports a learner-centered approach, fosters interprofessional collaboration, and prepares future nurses for high-pressure clinical environments.By transitioning from traditional simulations to real-time virtual excellence, VR redefines experiential learning in nursing education.
