Abstract: Ear-EEG technology has emerged as a promising solution for discreetand comfortable brain monitoring, with potential applicationsin areas such as auditory attention decoding (AAD), brain-computerinterfaces, and smart assistive devices. This work presents a systematicliterature review focused on the application of ear-EEG forauditory attention detection, investigating methods and technologiesdeveloped. In addition, we have discussed the main technicallimitations and gaps in the literature, highlighting the challengesassociated with accurate AAD. The results indicate a growing interestin the area, so future research should focus on standardizingpreprocessing techniques and exploring low-cost, efficient devicesand algorithms for signal acquisition and analysis.
