A visual and analytical look at the current state of big data and informative education research in China, using CiteSpace

Abstract: Since 2010, there has been more and more interest in researching big data and IT education in China, especially after 2020. Big data and IT education has become a key area of educational research. This study uses a tool called CiteSpace to visualise and analyse academic papers published between 1998 and 2024. The study looked at things like when the articles were published, what subject they were about, and who published them. The study also used keyword analysis, cluster analysis and content analysis to identify research priorities and trends. The results showed that the number of publications related to big data and education informatisation increased significantly after the policy on promoting education informatisation was released. But this growth then slowed down. When it comes to research trends, at first, most of the research was done by people working alone. But in recent years, there has been a big change towards people working together in different ways. But there is still not much interactive research in this area. Most of this research looks at how big data and informatics can be used in teaching, curriculum design, and educational administration. This paper aims to provide both theoretical support and practical insights. It will help to encourage more use of big data and informatics in education and training.
