Analysis of influencing factors and intelligent evaluation mechanism of defense industry capability: a case study of the United States

Abstract: The U.S. defense industry primarily serves its global military strategy. The capability of national defense industry is the basis and guarantee for the development and production of weapons and equipment, and its evaluation and monitoring is an important measure to ensure the efficiency of national defense industry. By studying the main influencing factors and evaluation mechanism of American defense industry capability, it is helpful to analyze the problems existing in China's defense industry capability system. Based on this, this study proposes a screening method of key influencing factors based on information gain calculation. In order to delete and reduce the dimensionality of a large number of index data, the self-organizing neural network is used to cluster the above indexes, so as to carry out feature-level data fusion. TOPSIS method is adopted to generate defense industry capability evaluation samples, and then an intelligent evaluation method based on probabilistic neural network, wavelet neural network and D-S evidence theory fusion method is proposed. The aim of this study is to provide technical support for the capability evaluation system of national defense industry. This paper explores the application of capability assessment method in national defense industry in practical work, and provides reference for timely finding deficiencies and coping strategies.
