Smart Forest Fire Monitoring and Detection System using Microservices and Container-based Virtualization
Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Fire, a destructive and often life-threatening force of nature, has been a constant companion of humanity throughout its history. The ability to detect fires swiftly and accurately is paramount in mitigating their catastrophic impact. In this paper, we've designed and implemented a smart forest fire monitoring and detection system using microservices and container-based virtualization, having as its primary aim the ability to detect the forest fire as early as possible. The efficient integration of the proposed approach in large-scale distributed environments, exploiting the advantages offered by the above cutting-edge technologies as well as the use of modern orchestrators, is also discussed and documented.
