Integrating AI Governance Principles within Cloud Infrastructure: A Study of Apache CloudStack
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: As Artificial Intelligence systems become more integrated into digital infrastructure, it is essential to align their deployment with principles of responsible governance. This research examines the incorporation of AI governance principles within cloud infrastructure, particularly focusing on the capabilities of Apache CloudStack. The study investigates how CloudStack's open-source framework can support responsible AI deployment through improved policy enforcement, workload transparency, access control, and data sovereignty. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research includes a review of system architecture, expert interviews, and a policy mapping framework. The findings highlight CloudStack's potential to act as a regulatory-compliant foundation for AI deployment, especially in public and hybrid cloud environments. The study suggests architectural improvements and policy frameworks to promote accountability in AI systems within open cloud settings.
