Abstract: This study explores the role of higher education in fostering active and positive ageing, aiming to address the economic and social challenges posed by an ageing society. Universities can play a prominent and important role in preserving the mental and physical health of older generations, in maintaining their longterm labor market and social activities. In this research, I present the social challenges of aging by analyzing statistical data and, by processing and analyzing good practices, I intend to make an innovative proposal on the possible role of universities in active aging.
