Abstract: tracking in two-dimensional (2D) echocardiography.The importance of MAPSE extends to the ease with which it can be obtained and reproduced, especially in patients with poor image quality, for whom LVEF and GLS may be inaccurate.This review intends to clarify the evidence available in the literature on MAPSE, which, despite its applicable usefulness in the context of various heart diseases, is an underused index in clinical practice.
