Abstract: This article addresses the topic of the prehistoric dwellings in Algeria through the archaeological remains recorded at various sites, as well as the artistic data found especially in the central Sahara (Tassili and Ajjer), for the meanings they carry regarding the type and form of shelter adopted by prehistoric man. These remains reflect the words: cultures of human groups, their lifestyles, and the different environments across time. They also confirm the organization and management by prehistoric man of the space he occupied, based on the essential resources it provided, such as food, water, and raw materials.Citation
