Case Technology of Formation of Information and Digital Competence of Future Teachers of Natural Disciplines

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article treats the case technology of forming information and digital competence of future teachers of natural sciences as an integral didactic tool that harmoniously combines methods of group, interactive learning and digital technologies when working on cases. Methodological approaches (project, process, resource-oriented, self-regulation), principles (problem-based, practical orientation, integration of knowledge, independent search for solutions, cooperation and communication, technologicality, reflection and evaluation) of the implementation of case technology are determined. The project approach consists in the fact that students work on a case as on a project that has a specific goal, objectives and final product. The process approach emphasizes the stages and logic of case implementation, where each step should be well structured. The resource-oriented approach focuses on the maximum use of available resources (digital, material, human) for effective case resolution. The self-regulatory approach to the application of case technology is based on the fact that students independently control, organize and regulate their own learning process when working with cases. The principle of problem orientation orients that the case should contain a real or simulated situation that requires analysis, decision-making and the use of digital technologies. The principle of practical orientation assumes that cases should be as close as possible to real pedagogical activity, form skills in working with information and digital technologies in the educational process. The principle of knowledge integration reflects the combination of knowledge from natural sciences, pedagogy and digital technologies for a comprehensive solution to the problem. The principle of independent search for solutions assumes that students should independently investigate the problem, find relevant information and draw conclusions. The principle of cooperation and communication, according to which the implementation of case technology involves group work, discussion of solution options and the use of digital tools for communication. The principle of technologicality assumes the use of modern digital technologies in the process of case analysis and their solution. The principle of reflection and evaluation emphasizes that students should not only find solutions, but also evaluate their effectiveness and draw conclusions regarding further improvement of skills. The stages of the implementation of case technology are defined and characterized: preparatory and methodological, motivational and activity, analytical and reflective. The preparatory and methodological stage aims to create a methodological basis for working with the case, determine the goals and evaluation criteria. The motivational and activity stage aims to activate students in the process of working on the case, ensure their practical activity with digital resources. The analytical and reflective stage aims to evaluate the results of working with the case, reflect on the knowledge gained and improve the skills of information and digital competence.
