Innovative Strategies of Teaching Natural Sciences in the New Ukrainian School

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article explores and substantiates innovative strategies for teaching natural sciences within the framework of the New Ukrainian School (NUS). These strategies are based on an integrative and activity-based approach, incorporating STEM education and digital technologies as essential components of modern learning. Their implementation plays a crucial role in shaping students' scientific competencies, fostering analytical thinking, and enhancing problem-solving skills. In the context of martial law in Ukraine, these methods gain even greater significance, helping to overcome educational losses, maintain student engagement, and ensure equal access to quality education. The article discusses practical models for integrating these strategies into the school curriculum, focusing on interdisciplinary connections, hands-on learning, and digital tools that facilitate interactive engagement. The study also examines the key conditions necessary for successful implementation, including teacher training programs, curriculum updates, and the development of modern technological infrastructure. Special attention is given to the role of online learning platforms, virtual laboratories, and adaptive educational programs, which enable students to continue their studies despite disruptions caused by external circumstances. The research underscores the importance of systemic support at all levels of the education system to maximize the effectiveness of these approaches. This includes continuous professional development for educators, the modernization of teaching materials, and the integration of innovative teaching methodologies. By leveraging these strategies, the New Ukrainian School can create an inclusive and forward-looking learning environment that equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary for future academic and professional success.
