Analysis of Research Hot Spots and Trends of College English Teaching Materials Based on CiteSpace

Abstract: 本文借助CiteSpace可视化分析软件，将中国知网(CNKI) 1995~2024年CSSCI来源期刊和北大中文核心期刊所收录的大学英语教材文献作为数据来源，分析了国内英语教材研究年度发文量、关键词频次及中心性、关键词聚类图谱，并对结果进行回顾讨论。研究发现国内英语基础研究经历发展期、爆发期两个阶段，为未来高等教育打下了坚实基础。从研究方向来看，中国大学英语教材研究主要集中在“大学英语”“课程思政”“翻译教学”“教材开发”等方面，研究趋势主要以英语教材编写、文化自觉、课程思政和教材改革为主。当前的研究动态从整体性研究向精细化研究迁移。With the help of CiteSpace visual analysis software, this article takes the university English teaching materials literature included in the CSSCI source journals and Peking University Chinese core journals from 1995~2024 on China Knowledge Network (CNKI) as a source of data, and analyzes the annual number of articles issued, keyword frequency and centrality, and keyword clustering mapping of the research on English teaching materials in China, and review and discuss the results. It is found that domestic English basic research has gone through two stages: The developmental stage and the explosion stage. In terms of research direction, Chinese university English teaching materials research mainly focuses on the areas of “university English”, “curriculum ideology”, “translation teaching”, “teaching materials development”, etc. The research trend is that the research is mainly focused on the areas of “university English”, “curriculum ideology”, “translation teaching” and “teaching materials development”. The research trend has expanded from English textbook writing and cultural self-awareness to curriculum ideology and textbook reform. The research trends in general reflect a shift from macro to micro.
