Establishing a hybrid Delphi DEMATEL-fuzzy approach for identification and assessment of human errors associated with Kerman’s iron mines

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: ABSTRACT Human errors are the primary cause of accidents in iron mines. This study aims to identify and evaluate risk factors using the hybrid Delphi DEMATEL-fuzzy approach in the Kerman mines of Iran. To this end, the required data were collected from 26 experts who responded to a questionnaire. The results reveal that human error is influenced by several factors, including work shifts, job stress, job satisfaction, mental health, fatigue, mental workload, job security, sleep disorders, cognitive function, environmental discomfort, work pressure, occupational knowledge, work complexity, and task incompatibility. Among these factors, occupational knowledge and job security emerged as the most critical. Since these two variables influence errors both directly and indirectly, they should be prioritized for corrective measures in the future.
