¿Quevedo ‘cancelado’? Sobre los retos de enseñar poesía satírico-burlesca en los tiempos que corren
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Many teachers have had to modify their way of teaching Quevedo’s satirical-burlesque poetry due to the growing sensitivity regarding its darker side: sexism, racism, anti-Semitism, etc. It is the result of a sociocultural climate some have defined as ‘cancel culture’. As teachers in the 21st century, what should we do with the texts in question? Should we stop teaching them? The essay suggests some strategies to deal with the dilemma.
