Three new species of the subgenus Dilatognathus Kluge, 2012 (Ephemeroptera: Leptophlebiidae: Atalophlebiinae) from Western Himalaya, India

Abstract: The present study describe the three new species within the genus Choroterpes (Dilatognathus) from the Western Himalayas of India. The newly discovered species, viz., Ch. (D.) klugei Kubendran, Vasanth & Subramanian sp. nov., Ch. (D.) latus Vasanth, Kubendran & Subramanian sp. nov., and Ch. (D.) triapicalis Vasanth, Kubendran & Subramanian sp. nov., are described based on larvae collected from streams and rivers in the Western Himalaya. Additionally, a larval key to the known species of the subgenus Dilatognathus, a table of larval characters, biological notes on the streams and rivers, and a distribution map are also provided.
