Isotomurus punctiferus Yosii, 1963 (Collembola: Isotomidae), a new record to India with its taxonomic account

Abstract: A Collembola species belonging to the family Isotomidae, Isotomurus punctiferus Yosii, 1963, is recorded for the first time from India (Manas National Park, Assam). Previously, this species was reported in Japan, Europe as well as Eastern Asia. Isotomurus species exhibit a distinguishable colour pattern on its body. As a result of this study, the Collembola fauna of the Indian Isotomidae family has increased to 45 species, while the genus Isotomurus comprises 10 species in India.
