It reveals the analysis of euphemisms from the perspective of sociolinguistics, linguoculturology, cognitive linguistics and linguopragmatics, the extent to which their communicative functions, semantic properties and significance in the cultural context have been studied. In particular, the works of scientists who have made a significant contribution to the study of euphemisms are analyzed and the prospects for scientific research on this topic are considered. The article serves to provide a deeper understanding of the issues of linguoculturology and linguopragmatics related to euphemisms, as well as the problems that arise in the process of their translation. At the same time, it serves as an important source for improving research in this area and expanding theoretical knowledge.
