Abstract: Postmethod pedagogy refers to a shift away from fixed methods to a dynamic and contextually responsive approach to teaching English. At the heart of this approach is Kumaravadivelu’s three-dimensional framework – specificity, practicability and opportunity – which prioritizes contextual adaptability, integration of theory and practice, and the transformative potential of teaching. This article explores these dimensions, drawing on Kumaravadivelu and Stern’s insights, and shows how postmethod pedagogy is transforming ELT practices. It also discusses the challenges and implications for teacher training, and highlights the need for professional development to support reflective, autonomous and critical practices.
