Abstract: The paper examines the mechanism of erosive cavitation and its impact on materials used in hydrodynamic equipment and rocket-space technology.A comparison is provided of the cavitation resistance of various materials, including traditional ones and modern ones.The prospects of using wear-resistant materials and coatings to improve the durability of components operating under severe hydrodynamic conditions are discussed.
