The Intersection of Iconology and AI: A Study on the Reconstruction of Dream of the Red Chamber Illustrations in Manchu Artistic Style

Abstract: This paper aims at applying the artificial intelligent technology to his How to applied this technology to redraw and illustrate the Dream of the Red Chamber artistic figure in the Manchu artistic approached method to explore the Manchu art and the cultural integration, and to promote the Redology culture. A major work of Chinese literature, Dream of the Red Chamber aspires to communicate its content and cultural context by means of its images. Through using one of the most prevalent AI illustration technologies, this study aspires to help the process of symbolism and cultural meanings and discusses more tests and validation of the first influence of AI illustration owners’ cognition based on Panofsky's theory of iconology experiments. It shows that AI-based, rich and culturally relevant illustrations can better help readers understand the original culture, which is important for the minority culture design of ideation generation and creates a novel path for the spread of Dream of the Red Chamber. Not only to inject new vitality into traditional arts, but also to provide a window of cross-cultural communication.
