Abstract: The latest analysis of U.S. economic data conducted by the Independent Sector pegs the average value of volunteer service in 2024 at $34.79, up 3.9% from the prior year's $33.49 per hour and the $31.8‐per‐hour estimate for the year before. According to the IS data, this continues a years‐long trend of sizeable increases, going back to 2018 when the value of volunteer service jumped by 7.4%. It also outpaces the rate of inflation in the overall economy, the researchers said.
