Artificial light as a tool for forming the architectural look of a night city

Abstract: Various types of architectural and artistic lighting are analyzed. The historical development of methods and techniques of decorative facade lighting is considered. The application of various lighting techniques and technologies is studied depending on the features of the objects: flood or background and local lighting are used for iconic historical objects, and contour, "light facades" and hidden lighting are used for monuments that form presentation spaces of historical streets. Modern examples of architectural and artistic lighting of buildings in Russia and in the world are analyzed.
