Abstract: The article examines the history of the formation and the main stages of development of the Memory Square ensemble and the creation of a monument to Samara soldiers who died in local wars. Detailed information is provided on the competition held to create the monument. The main stages of the formation of the square as a memorial object are given. Further stages of the creation and formation of the "patriotic route" along Osipenko Street at the border of Michurin Street and Lenin Avenue, uniting Memory Square and the memorial complex dedicated to the fortieth anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, are formulated. A conceptual solution is given for adapting the route to possible subsequent changes in connection with the events taking place today: placement of stands, plaques, dioramas that fit into the overall design environment.
