Social and Pedagogical Aspects of the Work of Law Enforcement Agencies of Ukraine under Martial Law

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article explores the specific features of the work of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies under martial law and examines the professional competence of officers through the lens of socio-pedagogical aspects. It is emphasized that during martial law, the traditional functions of the police must expand to include psychosocial support for the population, legal education, the prevention of destructive behavior, and focused engagement with children and youth. Law enforcement is becoming increasingly community-oriented and reflects a shift in professional thinking. This transformation enables the police to collaborate more closely with communities and adopt innovative approaches to solving issues related to crime, public order, and security. The author argues that under martial law, the social and pedagogical work of law enforcement agencies should be grounded in the principles of crisis pedagogy, the theory of social capital, and the concept of resilience. Key areas of police activity include the protection of constitutional rights and freedoms, psychosocial support in response to the challenges posed by armed conflict, wide-ranging legal education, readiness to protect individuals from criminal threats, the ability to conduct socio-cultural dialogue based on respect for human dignity, and continuous professional development in diverse fields.
