Abstract: Intellectual Disability in a Post-Neoliberal World opens with the assertion that recurring problems can serve as catalysts for change when properly recognised and engaged with as 'hedgehogs of doubt' (p.4).Using anonymised case studies alongside the philosophy of Deleuze as a theoretical lens, the authors critically examine how neoliberal principles have shaped and constrained intellectual disability services, often to the detriment of individuals with ID, their parents and carers.Rather than merely diagnosing these systemic issues, Clegg and Lansdall-Welfare explore alternative pathways for meaningful change, challenging the reader to think beyond the status quo.
