Abstract: The research paper sought to analyse the importance of rural tourism in the development of the country as a strategy of economic development for the rural areas, the development of culture and the preservation of the environment. Thus, the aim of this paper is to provide a bibliometric analysis of rural tourism in terms of sustainability, phenomenal trends and thematic distribution in the current literature. There is a lack of comprehensive, data-driven studies mapping the global research landscape on rural tourism's impact on sustainability, highlighting the need for systematic bibliometric analysis in this area.
