Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article presents a comprehensive analysis of state influence on political parties, manifested through various types, forms, and means. The study emphasizes the importance of classifying these aspects to fully understand their purpose and essence while highlighting the need for a systematic approach in selecting appropriate methods of influence. It is proposed to categorize the state influence on political parties as stimulating and restrictive. To fulfill the state's key task in its interaction with political parties -ensuring freedom of political association, political pluralism, and creating equal opportunities for fair competition -a balanced application of both forms of influence is necessary.State intervention may involve strict measures, which impose obligations or prohibitions of certain activity, as well as soft measures, which encourage certain behaviors without direct orders or bans. The state's impact varies across coalition and opposition parliamentary parties, as well as non-parliamentary parties, stressing the need for comprehensive legal regulation of coalition and opposition party status within the framework of internal parliamentary reform.Furthermore, exploring both direct and indirect state influence on political parties, the article examines the role of the electoral system in shaping the political party system. The state's influence on both internal and external party activities underscores its role in fostering intra-party democracy. This aspect remains a key priority while researching the reform of the political sphere in Ukraine, highlighting the necessity of establishing effective mechanisms for party oversight and support.Additionally, the study explores various forms of state influence on political parties, i.e normative, supervisory, judicial, and advisory forms, each with its own specific implementation methods.
