Abstract: This article examines distributed computing as a fundamental paradigm in contemporary computer science, characterized by the collaborative functioning of multiple computational nodes to achieve shared objectives. It traces the historical evolution of distributed architectures from early network systems to modern cloud infrastructures, analyzing their core principles, challenges, and implementation frameworks. It explores the conceptual architecture of distributed systems, focusing on influential models like MapReduce and distributed storage implementations such as the Google File System. Particular attention is given to resilience engineering and fault tolerance mechanisms that enable these systems to maintain operational integrity despite hardware failures and network disruptions. It further investigates contemporary implementation frameworks, including Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, and Cassandra, analyzing their distinctive approaches to distributed computing challenges. Through a case study of e-commerce platform orchestration, the article demonstrates how these theoretical principles and technological frameworks converge in practical applications to enable complex, scalable systems that remain resilient under varying operational conditions. It concludes that distributed computing represents a transformative approach to computational architecture that will continue to expand its influence across technological domains.
