Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This project involves the formulation and evaluation of an anti-dandruff herbal shampoo using natural ingredients such as neem, amla, shikakai, reetha, fenugreek, and bhringraj, known for their antifungal, antibacterial, and conditioning properties. The aim was to develop a safe, effective, and eco-friendly alternative to synthetic shampoos. The prepared formulations were evaluated through various physicochemical tests including pH, viscosity, foam stability, dirt dispersion, and UV spectroscopy. The results demonstrated satisfactory cleansing, foaming, and anti-dandruff activity without causing irritation or side effects. The study supports the potential of herbal shampoos as a natural solution for scalp care and recommends further in-vivo testing for enhanced validation.
