Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article explores the integration of criminalistics knowledge into the professional development of judges as a key area for improving Ukraine's judicial system. Given contemporary challenges, such as the complexity of criminal cases and the introduction of innovative technologies in evidence examination, the focus is placed on the significance of criminalistics for enhancing the quality of justice and reducing judicial errors. The authors analyze the current state of applying criminalistics methods in judicial practice, highlighting innovations such as DNA analysis, digital forensics, document examination, and ballistic studies. The main obstacles to their effective use are identified, including the inadequacy of training programs, insufficient technical resources for judges, and the lack of a systematic approach to integrating criminalistics knowledge into judicial processes. Based on an analysis of international experiences, particularly from European countries, the article suggests ways to improve the system of judges' training. Recommendations include the implementation of modular training courses, interactive simulations of court proceedings, and digital platforms for remote learning. The importance of cooperation with international organizations for experience sharing and adapting best global practices is emphasized. The conclusions underline the prospects of integrating criminalistics knowledge into the judicial system to establish a modern justice system aligned with European standards. This integration will contribute to the professional development of judges, improve the effectiveness of evidence examination, and strengthen public trust in Ukraine's judiciary.
