Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article is dedicated to the study of the concept of "tradition" in the linguistic worldview based on the material of Russian and Turkic languages. Tradition is considered as a cognitive-semantic category that reflects the characteristics of an ethnic group, its worldview, and value representations. A comparative analytical study of vocabulary, phraseology, and etymology is conducted to reveal the key motifs and semantic aspects of the concept of "tradition." Russian and Turkic languages demonstrate both common and specific features in the representation of traditional values, shaped by their cultural particularities. Special attention is paid to the analysis of linguistic means reflecting the content of this concept, as well as its cultural and historical features. The study examines metaphorical and metonymic models, set expressions related to tradition, and their interpretation in the context of two cultures. The results of the study reveal similarities and differences in the perception and representation of tradition in the Russian and Turkic linguistic worldviews, contributing to the understanding of the linguocultural aspects of cross-linguistic interaction. The findings can be applied in linguocultural studies and intercultural communication.
