Abstract: The text addresses the issue of uprooting, highlighting the ideas of Simone Weil and Ecléa Bosi, who consider uprooting to be a dangerous cultural "disease" and one of the most neglected needs of human beings. Uprooting, especially among the poorest classes, is driven by social and urban factors that weaken people's ties to their past and to the community. In the case of Itaim Paulista, a district of São Paulo with low development rates, uprooting is visible in the complaints of visitors about the lack of connection with historical and cultural spaces, such as the Núcleo Itaim Biacica. Digital comments about the place reflect this feeling of loss of identity, despite recognizing the importance of public leisure spaces. The text also highlights the role of digital platforms, such as Google, in disseminating information and creating networks for sharing experiences.
