Comparative Efficacy of Isometric and Isotonic Exercise Regimens on Muscular Strength and Endurance in Young Adult Males

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Isometric and isotonic exercises are pivotal modalities in resistance training, each eliciting unique physiological responses that enhance muscular strength and endurance. This study evaluates their effects in healthy males aged 18–24 through a 12-week case study and a recent controlled trial. Results demonstrate that isotonic exercises yield superior improvements in dynamic strength and cardiovascular endurance, while isometric exercises enhance localized strength and muscular endurance. These findings, supported by a robust evidence base, guide the development of tailored exercise protocols for clinical rehabilitation, athletic performance, and general fitness.
