Pattern Synthesis of Standing-Wave Antenna by Using Transmission Line Model
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: In this article, a synthesis procedure is proposed to achieve desired radiation pattern in standing-wave structure. To obtain the desired pattern, transmission line model is used, also. In fact, the current obtained from the synthesis of the desired pattern is considered equivalent to each slot admittance. The slot offset and length are used to realize the conductance and susceptance of each slot, respectively. Two different design examples, sectoral beam and cosecant-squared one, are demonstrated to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in shaped beam pattern designs. Moreover, the slotted waveguide with cosecant-squared is fabricated at 10 GHz. High efficiency, low SLL, and low gain ripple are the valuable advantages of the proposed method in comparison with the state-of-the-art references.
