The Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research: The way forward

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The Journal of Clinical and Scientific Research (JCSR) is a print and electronic journal started in 2012[1] as part of non-commercial academic contribution by Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (a medical university established by the Act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature in 1995 and recognised by the University Grants Commission under section 12[B]) commemorating its 19th Anniversary. The JCSR is a peer reviewed, quarterly, free full-text, print and online–indexed journal that charges no submission, processing or publication fees. Also the journal does not accept any financial support including advertisements and is totally run by own funds. From 2014, the JCSR has provided digital object identifier numbers, the unique identification of the article and quick response code guiding to online access of the articles. The JCSR content is available free full-text online with a motive to encourage vibrant young faculty researchers and postgraduates to publish their work. Every year, in an attempt to encourage authors who publish manuscripts in the journal, the JCSR has been awarding the ‘Best Paper Award’ in the ‘Original Article’ and ‘Case Report’ categories. The journal gets distributed free of cost to all medical colleges, medical institutions, medical universities and research and development institutions in the country. The JCSR has been indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals.[2] From 2025, in an effort to further improve the quality of publications, the JCSR is introducing incorporation statements regarding the use of artificial intelligence-assisted technology for manuscript preparation, details of author contributions and ethical standards followed by the authors and data availability. The journal is steadily making its progress, marching ahead into the 14th year of publishing; so far, 52 issues have been published without skipping a single issue.[3]
