Abstract: Welcome to this special issue on Advances in Dynamics, Vibration Engineering and Control Systems, which consists of selected papers from the 17th International Conference on Motion and Vibration Control (MoViC 2024) and the 20th Asia-Pacific Vibration Conference (APVC2021), held in Tokyo, Japan, in 2024.MoViC is an event that is organized once every two years.It aim is to stimulate contacts between scientists active in the area of Motion and Vibration Control and engineers of virtually every field.It started in Yokohama, Japan in 1992 and has been held in Japan in 1994, 1996, 2002, 2010, 2014, 2020, Switzerland in 1998, Australia in 2000, USA in 2004, 2012, 2022, Korea in 2006, 2018, Germany in 2008, and UK in 2016.The purpose of this MoViC is to discuss recent progress in the fields of motion and vibration control and their application to industrial, economic, and environmental issues.It is hoped that the conference will encourage interdisciplinary researches as well as international cooperation in these fields.
