Abstract: The physical and mechanical properties of PVC-based composites can be improved in various ways. Additives in wood composites affect the appearance and properties of the final product, as well as their processing. The composition of the composite usually includes a filler, or reinforcing elements that provide the necessary mechanical characteristics of the material, and a matrix that ensures the joint operation of the reinforcing elements, characterizes the continuous spatial phase responsible for maintaining the configuration of the product, resistance to external factors. In wood composite materials, wood waste acts as a reinforcing element, and a polymer acts as a matrix. The physical and mechanical properties of PVC-based wood composites can be improved in various ways, for example, by choosing the right components and their ratio. When heating polyvinyl chloride, it is destroyed, so the use of various additives is also necessary for stabilizing and modifying this polymer. Since wood composites contain wood flour, friction occurs between the melt and parts of the equipment, which leads to an increase in the load on the equipment and its rapid wear. To facilitate the processing of the material, it is necessary to introduce lubricants into the composition of the components. The purpose of this work is to study the effect of additives on the physical and mechanical properties of a composite material based on polyvinyl chloride. The article presents the results of the analysis of the effect of lubricants and fire retardants on the properties of composites.
