Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The article analyzes the architectural images identified in the works of Osip Mandelstam, directly or indirectly related to the theme of St. Petersburg, determines their influence on the perception of the image of the city in the poet's lyrics, and examines the significance of architecture in the author's poetics. cmeist Osip Mandelstam always paid special attention to material images, which he used both as independent units and in antithesis to immaterial images. It was architecture as a sphere of interest for poets of the cmeist traditionthat turned out to be an important component of these material images for Mandelstam and took the prime importance in his poetics. The topos of St. Petersburg turns into a boundless and endless bridgehead in the author's lyrics, coming to life and acquiring character thanks to architectural images. Color and material (stone, metal, granite) play an important role in conveying these images, thanks to which it is possible to conduct a deeper analysis of the architecture, as well as to trace the specifics of the change in the image ofthe city from the early to the late lyrics of Osip Mandelstam.
