Abstract: The author of the article determines the term "literary necropolistics". It means the study of real and fictional portraits and biographies of people, buried in the local cemetery, in the context of the poetics of the local text. The fact of the presence, transfer, loss of the grave of a significant person of the region determines thelocal history and tourist attraction of the locus. Moreover, it has a significant text-generating potential. The object of the study is the ltai text of ussian literature. The author illustrates a possibility to this approach, using the material of fiction about significant persons of Barnaul and ltai: poet V. G. Shershenevich, prose writer and scientist N. M. Yadrintsev, manager of the olyvano-Voskresensk plants, Major General . V. Beer. Literature "resurrects" the dead, creating a "monument which is not created by hands" to the departed person. The degree of realism of the image and functionality of a character that has a prototype depends on the author’s genre strategies.
